Testimony from a Peer
Brian is a United States Veteran – serving in the National Guard in 2005 and the Active Duty Army in 2006. He was honorably discharged in March 2010 and has been recovering from the war in Iraq, openly struggling with and continuing to remain victorious against Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. The Veteran can identify with other Veterans and citizens because he has a story of recovery to share and had an eventful journey since he has returned.
Brian has both personal and professional experience in dealing with children, as well as adults who have been diagnosed with special needs, mental health disorders, and substance abuse disorders. He has worked at Open Door Peer Support Center, interned at Meadowood Hospital for 6 months, and interned at the Rick Van Story Resource Center for a year. Brian was a paraprofessional for Kelly Services and Delta-T for children who are diagnosed with autism. He brings a lot of variety and diversity into his practice and he can refer the client experienced providers.

The biopsychosocial interview is an assessment which typically assesses for biological, psychological, and social factors that can be contributing to a problem or problems with a client. It's considered a holistic assessment, looking at a client on all different levels.
